CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - SoDeSeP SA (First Half of 2025)

The Société béninoise de Développement des Semences et Plants (SoDeSeP SA.) invites eligible seed companies and suppliers to submit their Expression of Interest for inclusion in the Directory of Seed Companies/Suppliers for the first half of 2025. This initiative aims to identify qualified suppliers of hybrid and non-hybrid seeds and seedlings that are well-adapted to the West African tropical climate.

Objective

To compile a comprehensive list of seed companies and suppliers for the provision of seeds (maize, rice, soybean, cassava, etc.) and seedlings (mango, papaya, citrus, cashew, etc.), ensuring quality and availability for agricultural development.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Exclusivity of Varieties: Companies with exclusive production or distribution rights for certain seed varieties are highly encouraged to apply.
  2. National and International Applications: The call is open to all registered seed suppliers of any nationality, provided they have demonstrated expertise in seed production or distribution.
  3. Legal and Ethical Compliance: Applicants must not be subject to sanctions under Article 62 of Law No. 2020-26 on the Public Procurement Code of Benin.

Submission Requirements

Interested companies must submit a dossier, including:
  • A Letter of Expression of Interest, signed and sealed, along with a brief company profile (maximum two pages).
  • A catalogue or portfolio of seed varieties and seedlings, highlighting their specific characteristics and exclusivities.
  • A copy of the Certificate of Incorporation or equivalent legal document.
  • Proof of experience in seed production and distribution (e.g., completion certificates or equivalent documents).
  • Evidence that the proposed varieties are adapted to the West African tropical climate.

Submission Guidelines

Expressions of Interest must be written in French or English and submitted in hard copy or electronic format (PDF). Submissions must be clearly marked: “CONSTITUTION DU RÉPERTOIRE DES FIRMES/FOURNISSEURS SEMENCIERS AGRÉÉS AUPRÈS DE LA SODESEP SA.” The deadline for submissions is November 29, 2024, at 5:00 PM (GMT+1). Late submissions will not be considered.
